Program structure
In three blocks of two days, we continuously bring practice into the room and theory into practice.
The program consists of lectures, peer consultation, preparation and the application of insights to real-life challenges. Over a period of three months, you spend three times two full working days on campus at Nyenrode. Each module focuses on a different level of leadership and collaboration.
Practical challenge and peer consultation
You begin the program by formulating your individual practical challenge. Throughout the three modules, you continue to work on this challenge so that you finish the Program with clear and actionable next steps. There are three peer consultation sessions with a group of four participants in total. Guided by an experienced coach, you take part in these sessions, which help you translate theory into practice and anchor your learning on both a personal and professional level.
Learn from experts
The program is developed and facilitated by the academic staff of Nyenrode Business University. During the modules, you work with professors, consultants and executive coaches who combine scientific insights with many years of practical experience. This enables you to translate theory directly into your daily reality.
Some of our core faculty members you will meet during the program:
- Erik Maier
- Jeanine Janssen
- Herman van der Meulen
Modules
Block 1: Leadership
Exploration of leadership: what forms it can take, what authentic leadership means, and which values shape your personal view on leading. In this module, you build toward a clear understanding of leadership in a broad sense and leadership grounded in your own purpose. The sessions cover forward-looking leadership, conveying your narrative and the key characteristics of authentic leadership.
In module 2, we take a deeper look at your leadership and the psychological development of people. In module 1, you gained clarity on your purpose and values; now the question is how you translate these into your leadership style and how you apply them in interaction with others. What drives you, what holds you back, and which skills, beliefs or attitudes would you like to develop?
You conclude module 2 by formulating your intentions for how you want to show up as a leader within your organisational context.
Block 2: Personal leadership: who am I as a leader?
Block 3: Group dynamics and my role as a leader
In module 3, you learn to view groups and teams from multiple perspectives. What makes a team a true team? You explore systemic and relational ways of looking at a team, and how to navigate the dynamics that naturally arise.
In this module, you practise engaging and mobilising others, while reflecting on your own role within a group setting. You conclude module 3 by formulating and practising your leadership intentions for the future.
